This was in the 1700's or thereabouts. When the hunting party returned the next year, Burke found potatoes ready to be plucked, cooked and eaten so "God's Thumbprint" is also known as Burke's Garden.
I like leaving the 'e' on the end, if it's good enough for Idaho, it's good enough for me! -smile-Thistle Cove Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15722295191884810953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14988614.post-22980368199587379702009-05-08T05:52:00.000-07:002009-05-08T05:52:00.000-07:00If you need advice on planting.....I'm a quick e-m...If you need advice on planting.....I'm a quick e-mail away :)Anne Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11570313791042086593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14988614.post-23035772761133735692009-05-08T02:13:00.000-07:002009-05-08T02:13:00.000-07:00Hello Cyn,

Firstly, your grandson may be away for the moment but he will never forget what you have done for him and he will eventually make contact on his own. For this I will pray for you. Planting it forward is such a good thing to do also especially when so many are having hardship. And potatoes are such a great staple and when they grow they have pretty little flowers as well.Thankyou for your wonderful posts.

Blessings gailgailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11474172270399240621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14988614.post-12252573459631081522009-05-07T21:31:00.000-07:002009-05-07T21:31:00.000-07:00Hello! I think a person should try at least one new thing per year. Eggplant was another experiment, but since no one but me liked them, we scratched that for this year. I like your idea for planting them in the beds...smart use of space!
XOXO
JoniOld Centennial Farmhousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16865061855481840216noreply@blogger.com
