Alex's Surgery Tomorrow...UPDATE!

Alex and his memere

Tomorrow morning Alex undergoes a 4-5 hour surgical procedure to insert a permanent feeding tube.
It is an extremely risky surgery and one the Dr's say he potentially might not survive.
From what I understand, the riskiest part is in the recovery room as he comes out of the anesthesia.
If all goes well he will be in the hospital for about 5 days and then home where hospice will be there to help.

I am so grateful for all the prayers and concerns.
I am taking this one day at a time and am daily reminding myself of this verse in the Word:

"Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it's own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Matthew 6:34

We are facing huge battles here and I could not do this without the One who gave me new life.

Love and blessings,
Cindy

UPDATE:

Alex had surgery this morning and it went very well. Feeding tube is inserted in his stomach and they were able to take him off the surgical breathing tube almost immediately after surgery.
If all continues to go well, he will be coming home by Sunday where they will have hospice there to assist them.

Thanks to all for your prayers and support.

I hope to get back to some more traditional FarmgirlCyn style posting real soon!

  3. Prayers and thoughts are with you from us.
Before Alex comes home or after he comes home after surgery, if you feel like it contact these people to see if they have a photographer in your area that will come out to you and take beautiful photographs of Alex and his parents.

I was telling my young niece to pray and she is a L&D Tech at our largest hospital. She's currently trying to get a local photgrapher to do this for our area.

I am praying for you and sweet Alex. My baby girl had heart surgery at 1 month old - before I was able to take her home from the hospital. God was with me, and God will be with you. My baby is now 10 years old and completely healthy. I will be praying for you all. My "baby" is a walking testament of God's goodness and healing. I'll be thinking and praying for you.

  10. Jesus cares for the little children! What a blessing to know that He sees and knows all that is going on in little Alex's body and that He holds this little one in His hand.

I pray that peace from Our Heavenly Father wraps around each and every one of you in the family as you walk through this valley of trial; that you sense His very presence with you each moment; that your strength is renewed daily; and for miracles that will be beyond belief in anything this earthly world can offer!
