PILLOW TALK!

inspirational book

I have been inspired by the sweetest book I requested from my library.
Somewhere out in blogland someone had this book on their sidebar, and anything that has the word "simple" in it's description is one I am naturally drawn to.
Isn't the cover "inspirational"?
(now, if I were that tall and thin, that apron would be right up my alley)
But, alas, I am not.

My 3 button, YES!, I said 3 button pillowcase!!!

So instead, I tried my hand at this linen pillowcase.
Linen being the key word here as I have simply yards of it left from when I had slipcovers made for my sofa 3 years ago.

My handmade linen, 3 button, pillowcase
(did I mention there are 3 buttons on this?)

See how nicely it matches my other pillows and quilt?
And I have heard linen feels wonderful as bedding, all wrinkley and lineney, and such.
I'll find out tonite.

There are lots of simple projects in this dear book, and I believe it could be on my Christmas wish list.

Can you believe I had to make 3 buttonholes for this????

Who would have thought, 6 months ago, heck, even 3 weeks ago, that I could accomplish such a feat?
And I didn't shed one tear.

Hi Cyn,
I was thinking the same thing when I saw the thin model, as I love aprons, and the one on the cover is long and I like that. You did a fantastic job on your pillow cases. Glad you had no tears, wish I could say that about my last project.

How many buttonholes did you say there were?? THREE !!!! :) You're funny, Farmgirl.... I love that you tackled those first buttonholes and then kept on going and did some more. The pillowcase is beautiful. I like it so much in fact - it might urge me to learn how to do buttonholes too. :) yikes...that's scary

It looks great you did a nice job. Such a accomplishment when you can have things around you made yourself and did not have to buy from the store. Enjoy those pillowcases. Have a great dat Rebekah.

I can see a bright future for you and pillows ... after the initial fear of the BH ...it isn't so bad. You should be darn proud of that little linen beauty ... with three, you heard me I said three buttonholes!

Hi Cyn,
I wanted to come by and thank you so much for coming by yesterday, you will never know how much it meant to me.

I was out shopping Thursday, and saw some pillows that had the big buttons on them, and thought of yours, and I think yours were just as pretty. The big buttons on pillows must really be in style now. The only thing I forgot to go over and price them but will soon. I bet they were high priced.lol
Enjoy your weekend.
Blessings
Sue.

Beautiful work! You are well on your way to sewing mastery. I too have been eying that book. The wait list for it at my library is long. Maybe I could drop some hints :)
