To hospital, to hospital, to get a new knee...

...home by Monday, quick as can be!

This Friday I head for the hospital to get a total right knee replacement.
If all goes as expected, I should be home by Monday evening, or possibly Tuesday.
Oh, the things I have been doing to prepare!
Laundry. Groceries. Cooking.
Cut & color.
Rearrange furniture to accommodate a walker.
YIKES!
It's worse than going on vacation!

And...except for a few meals that friends will be bringing in for us, the cooking and cleaning will be all on Farmboy for a while.
DOUBLE YIKES!!!

A sweet package from Joy came yesterday....stuff she knew would keep me occupied during the long recuperation.
Like chocolate.
LOTS of chocolate.
Interactive French lessons.
Did you know I am French?
Can't speak a lick of it, but that could change!

And books!
Cookbooks!
Two beautiful books on cooking with herbs.
Thank you Joy.
You know my heart!

Twelve pigeons roosting in a tiny tree outside my bedroom window

I think the worst part of this whole knee business is the disruption it will cause.
Geez Louize...can't use the stairs.
Can't drive for 6 weeks.
Can't take care of the chickens.
And can't stand long enough to put a meal together!
I think THAT will be the worst part.
Not getting to do what I love best.

The BEST part of this whole knee business???
I GET A NEW KNEE!!!
Right now I wobble when I walk.
Remember...."Weebles wobble but they don't fall down"?
Well, I am a weeble.
But that will all change!
I just have to give it some time, follow thru with the therapy and exercises...
And by spring I should be getting around quite a bit better.
The left knee is supposed to be done in 3 months, but if I can handle it, I will put it off till September.
That way I get my gardening in and can enjoy the beautiful Michigan spring/summer.

Hope to be back REAL soon.
If you're so inclined, please pray for me.
And pray for Farmboy.
HE'S gonna need it!

xoxo,
Cindy

Hi Cindy!
You will most certainly be in my prayers...
The 'pigeon tree' is really neat~

Farmboy will take great care of his farmgirl :)
It's an excellent opportunity for him to give
...it is blessed to give and it is blessed to receive.
~There must be a receiver for the giving to happen!
Enjoy all the blessings of his giving!
Imagining you with a healthy knee and a strong leg!
Always~ Maria

Cyn,

Yes, you will be remembered in prayer. I'm so glad you are able to get this done.

Farmboy is gonna do great! I bet the worst of everything is you having to sit still for so long. Bet you are going to be itching to get up and do too much too soon.

What a beautiful gift of goodies!

Best wishes on a successful surgery and speedy recovery! My mom had that years ago and it was an awful recovery both times (both knees at different times). You are much younger than she was then, though, and I'm sure in better health. Take care and let hubby run things.

Will be praying for you. I am sure Farmboy will do a great job taking care of you and the house.

You are both in my prayers! Most people know who have gotten new knees were very glad they had the surgery because after the recovery they were so much better! Lots of good things can sometimes happen when we are forced to slow down for awhile!

Good Luck Cindy! Wishing you a speedy recovery! If you need something to occupy your time check out my favorite foodie website, bakespace.com. You should come into the forums and introduce yourself. We have some good laughs there. :-)

I certainly am inclined to pray for you. Praying for you right now that you will have a smooth surgery with wise doctors and nurses and that you will be up and runnin' in no time at all. Isn't it an amazing world we live in where we can get parts replaced when we need it?? Incredible :) I've written your surgery on my calendar and will continue to pray for you and Farmboy.

I know because he served here too for 7 days! I will never forget that gift.

You will do GREAT and you'll be so happy to have a new knee! When the pain goes away, you'll be a new person, I'm actually very excited for you! ♥

Your name just went into my prayer journal - may you be blessed by being prayed for! I "need" a new right knee too - I'm hoping to schedule my surgery date just as soon as our son's extra-curricular activities slow down just a bit - hopefully, no later than this spring. Please let us all know how surgery goes and all about your recovery. I'd much rather hear about the real recovery from someone who's actually had the surgery than from my cute, but VERY YOUNG Dr. Heal fast!! I'll race you when we both have our new knees!! :)

Cindy, By acccident (and fate) found your web site tonite. I had a TKR in 2006. I am hoping that yours has gone as smoothly as a TKR can. I know what you are feeling and going through right now. It is not easy but I am quite inspired by the spirit in your web site--I know you will make it just fine. Important not to be impatient--sometimes the road is not smoothe but you can make it. Please feel free to contact me if you need support. My TKR was in 2006; Unfortunately, there was an infection in my knee (both staph and strep) and I went through a great deal, almost lost my life, could have lost my leg. But I am here and walking well now. It is a lot of work but it's worth it. All the best to you!

I hope it all went well! It's a big undertaking, but, from friends who have done it, well worth it. Enjoy your 'time-off' as best you can and pamper yourself thoroughly. You'll be back to cooking and cleaning soon enough.

I have been praying for you ever since I saw the title of this post on my blogroll. I hope all went well & you have a quick recovery. Enjoy your time of enforced relaxation (well the best you can - it's difficult). Most of my patients who had replacements said they were the best thing they'd had done - hope yours proves that way as well!
God bless you
Renata :)

Hi Cyn! Wow you have a lot of people who are praying for you and who care. You are so blessed.

It's Monday evening and you may be coming home tonight. This too shall pass.

May our Almight Father send His Spirit to calm any concerns.

Enjoy this time. How often can you say I get to do nothing for 6 weeks, nothing but R&R and praising God. What a great time to totally focus on Him and grow closer to Him.

I wish you a smooth recovery.

Hugs & Peace,
Dee

Hi.

A bank is a financial institution that accepts deposits and channels those deposits into lending activities. Bank primarily provide financial services to customers while enriching investors. Government restrictions on financial activities by banks vary over time and location. Banks are important players in financial markets and offer services such as investment funds and loans. In some countries such as Germany, bank have historically owned major stakes in industrial corporations while in other countries such as the United States bank are prohibited from owning non-financial companies. In Japan, banks are usually the nexus of a cross-share holding entity known as the keiretsu. In France, bancassurance is prevalent, as most banks offer insurance services (and now real estate services) to their clients.

The level of government regulation of the banking industry varies widely, with countries such as Iceland, having relatively light regulation of the banking sector, and countries such as China having a wide variety of regulations but no systematic process that can be followed typical of a communist system.CLICK HERE
