Spring supper on the deck

Tabouli

SO good and spring like!
Fresh parsley, cucumber, tomato, green onions and soaked bulghur tossed with a mix of fresh lemon juice, olive oil and garlic.
It's a beautiful thing.

Asian Green Beans

Green beans I froze from the 09' garden, sauteed in a bit of coconut oil/olive oil and a few slivers of onion
Toss in a dash of soy sauce, sesame oil, and a sprinkle of black sesame seeds
These were so tasty I couldn't stop eating them.

Burger toppings

Pickles canned from autumn 08'

The finale!

I confess, I ate the whole thing!
Sat out on the deck with Pete and just enjoyed the summer-like weather.
Watching the ducks, the cats, and the chickens meandering all over the place.

For now...
life is good.

"He makes the sun rise on the evil and on the good,
and sends rain on the just and the unjust." Matthew 5:45

Cindy

WOW...that all looks SO good, Cyn! Bulghur is new to me...I know what it is, just never used it so I see I am going to need to experiment a bit.

The beans look really yummy, too. I still have some in the freezer from last year's garden, too. Have everything for those!

YES!! Someone else who makes their own pickles! Yours look SO good. I especially enjoy making the 14 day sweet pickle and bread and butters are our favorite!

I adore Tabouli! I told my husband that I hoped the food in heaven was mediterranean! I'm glad someone is enjoying warm sunny weather! I'm craving some sun myself!

Burgers must be on everybodys mind. We've had them twice in two weeks with all the same toppings! However, your side dishes (which look wonderful) are a lot more original than mine! (green salad)
Glad things are good for now, my new friend.

I can tell I am getting hungry for fresh produce, the plate with the sliced tomatoes, lettuce and onions was the most appealing to me, barbecues and tomato sandwiches, I am ready for them now!The canned produce also looks amazingly delicious prepared by you Cyn~

Mmmm, having food in the pantry like that is as good as money on the bank. The tabbouli looks delish.

Hi, I just found your blog from Farmstead Lifestyle. I used to hate green beans as a kid but I'm craving them lately. Your recipe looks awesome. I'll have to try it sometime.

The food looks wonderful and I love tabouli and green beans and burgers. Gosh, think we'll have burgers today, if I can talk Dave into it. He's not much on burgers and I'd rather have burgers than steak.
