Alex came home yesterday, but the plan is to bring him back to the hospital on Tuesday morning, where he will have a permanent feeding tube attached.
This is an extremely risky 5 hour surgery, but if not done, then he would basically starve.
Warren and Krystal have decided that no other life-saving methods are to be used.
They want him as comfortable as possible for the little time they have left with him, and extreme measures would not assure that for him.
Hospice is being called in to help, and friends and family are rallying around.
The Dr's. know he is very weak, and might not survive this surgery, so they are cherishing every minute.
We treasure all of the prayers and comments and can feel the very peace of God that passes all understanding.
I will keep updating as the need arises.
Till then, please continue to pray.
Praying that I might have my Father's eyes thru this,
Cindy
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!

You guys are in our prayers! another song I've often thought of when going through tough times is Blessed Be Your Name.
Your family is in my prayers! May peace continue to surround each of you.
Alex is so precious. I don't know what lessons are in this trial you are facing. But I heard it said last night ~
Out of your test, comes your testimony.
Out of your misery, comes your ministry.
I know God is good, He is perfect love. May you feel HIS presence each minute of everyday.
He is such a beautiful little man! is there no hope save divine intervention? I will add my prayers in for him as well as for his family.
Your new Grandson is beautiful! We have been praying for you and yours since you posted his picture. God bless you all!
We are praying for you and your precious Alex and his Mummy and Daddy and all the extended family and friends too Cindy. You are heavy on our hearts at this time. How beautiful it is to read of your reliance on the LORD and of your faith in HIS perfect work! How excruciatingly difficult it is to travel this road, but the LORD will give grace and strength...may you continue to KNOW HIS peace and presence and may your little Alex be held in HIS hands through it all!
In His Love,
Camille
Cyn,
Yes, praying in agreement that you would be able to see this all through His eyes. This is a prayer I very often say for myself, so I understand it completely.
What a bittersweet time. What you already fully know, but I'm going to say because we can never hear it enough is - Alex is going Home, just a little earlier than expected and the time here is shorter. But he will just be getting a head start on us to being with our Father.
I often wonder about these things. How our Father knows, even before conception, that children like Alex will be born, only to come quickly Home with Him. I wonder about the unique creation that these children are, not having been given personalities and gifts that are to be used here, but uniquely purposed to be with Him directly. What a thing to know...
But that does little to soothe the horrible ache in your hearts. I pray for peace and comfort, and that you all would draw nearer to the Lord through this, and nearer to one another.
Much love,
~Faith

There just don't seem to be words I can put down to say how truly sad we feel and we understand the heartache you are all dealing with. You and your Dh, Alex and his family are all in our daily prayers. {{{{HUGS}}}} to all of you.
Blessings through Him,

Pray (& crying) for your precious little Alex! Thank you for keeping us up-dated, even in the midst of your trial. I am praying for you as a mommy who lost our precious Jessica @ 3 mos for SIDS...she would be 25 (unbelievable!) on the 15th & I still think of her, even if it is some fleeting thought, everyday. I still know what she felt like in my arms. If you would like to read my story, go to http://marmeespantry.blogspot.com/2010/04/mothers-destiny.html
But to hopefully brighten you day, I have a little somethin'-somethin' for you at my blog. :-)
Blessings from Ohio...Kim<><
Alex is truly surrounded by those who love him dearly. And soon he may be with the Lord. God's will... who can know it... Yet, if your friends are able to rest in His providence, that is a great gift. I pray they are able to do that, but it might take time. Praying for all of them..
I am lifting you and your family and little Alex up to the One who knows best. And asking for the peace that passes all understanding to envelope you all.
My very favorite hymn, Cyn. Blessings on you all.
My heart goes out to little Alex, his family and friends. It is this kind of "storm" in life that the hymn "It Is Well" speaks to so effectively. With the sudden death of his four daughters, Horatio Spafford could speak with authority on the subject.
You likely know the story behind the hymn, but I have some extra details, and some pictures, on my hymn blog, Wordwise Hymns, this morning that might interest you.
And if you’ll forgive a brief “commercial:” With the arrival of fall, we begin to think of the Christmas season up ahead. If you do not have a good book on the subject of our Christmas carols, I encourage you to take a look at mine, Discovering the Songs of Christmas. In it, I discuss the history and meaning of 63 carols and Christmas hymns. The book is available through Amazon, or directly from Jebaire Publishing. (Might make a great gift too!)
