A little bit of Christmas at the farm...

The real reason for the season...Jesus

I have been busy, busy here at the farmette. Sewing, knitting, baking, soapmaking....
And not a whole lot of time for blogging!

Beau and Avery, out at the Christmas tree farm

We were out yesterday at the farm we have gotten our trees from the last 8 years.
This year we got the Griswold's tree.
SO huge...
We got it home....barely....
Set it in the stand...
And Farmboy had to cut about 10 branches off the bottom.
We truly could not get around the tree without running into furniture!
Even trimmed, it is too big!
But it is a beauty!

Hark! The herald angels sing!

Farmboy and I have been watching some Christmas movies here at the farmette!
Christmas in Connecticut, Christmas Vacation, The House Without a Christmas Tree, Charlie Brown's Christmas....
It's been so nice to just sit and relax and watch the classics!
What's some of your favorites?

Ribbon, rafia and scrap paper....
all ready for the soap wrapping

Tags from Cityfarmer last year adorn my itty bitty pine tree

Tomorrow I head out from the farm to a good friends home to make candy!
I am not really a sweet lover, but I do love to make special goodies around the holidays.
We will be making fleur de sel caramels, chocolate covered cherries, seafoam, and fruit and nut studded white chocolate bark!
YUM....

Hopefully some pics will follow soon...

Until then...
Keep the Christ in CHRISTmas!

xoxo,
Cindy

Oh, my! Chocolate Covered Cherries!!! They are my favorite ~ hope you will share the recipe or I might have to put a lump of coal in your stocking! (Grinchy smile!)

Dickens 'A Christmas Carol' is my favorite. We just watched the Alistair Sim version tonight. But my favorite is the version with June Lockhart and her family playing the Crachett family! And I really like the Patrick Stewart version too! So many versions, not enough days before Christmas!

Now that my husband and I are empty-nesters ( for quite a few years actually) we very much appreciate these nights to enjoy our Christmas classics. My husband loves 'A Christmas Carol' and we have collected several versions . We watch them every year.

I ditto LADY FARMER in what she said about A Christmas Carol and she is right, Patrick Stewart is a great Scrooge!

Yes, we too are busy in the Christmas season. Although we haven't watched any Christmas movies we play Christmas music all day, anywhere from oldies, like Bing Crosby to Country to Classical and even some Celtic!

I can atest to the soap you made, we tried a bar last night( lavendar) and it's wonderful! If anyone is looking for a great gift to give, just ask Cindy about her soap!

Blessings, Peace and Love,
Kelle

Cindy,
I love your nativity! And the "Merry Christmas" ribbon, too. Can't wait to see how it all looks. I still am trying to decide between a pre-cut tree and going out and cutting it ourself. I'd love to do the later, but squeezing in the time to go out and actually do it... maybe this weekend?

I love The House Without A Christmas Tree. I received the dvd for a gift this year but haven't gotten to watch it yet. Maybe this week, even though it is a month late!
