Signs...

First line-dried of the year!

A beautiful sunny day yesterday (high around 46), so we took advantage of the fact that there was no longer any snow beneath the clothesline, and hung our bedding out to dry.

Budding lilacs amongst the Redbud bush.

My favorite garden fragrance is lilacs...
Does my heart good to see them with buds!

Parsley re-seeded in the herb garden

Occasionally I get some herbs that re-seed when they are only supposed to be an annual.
Parsley is one of them.
A bit of green in all that gray is a sight for sore eyes, don'cha think?

Found!

Once the snow melts away, we see all sorts of things left behind in the fall.
I think there is a basketball out there, somewhere.
And I am certain to find a small gardening hand tool here and there.

Homemade Graham Crackers
(aren't they cute?)

And tho this has nothing to do with the title of this blog post, I couldn't help but share this new recipe I just tried yesterday.

These crackers are SO good.
I had a couple small ones dunked in milk after supper last night.

Find the recipe
HERE

I pretty much followed Wardeh's recipe exactly, but her instructions on the amts. of honey and molasses are kind of sketchy...
What she means is 1/3 cup EACH of molasses and honey.
The dough seemed a bit dry, so I dampened my hands and pulled it all together.
I also did not roll them out on the underside of a baking sheet.
I rolled mine on my Silpat, then placed the silpat in the baking sheet.
Worked just fine.

The crackers took longer to bake then what she recommends, so I kept pulling out the ones that were lightly browned along the outside edges, then popping the rest back in the oven.
They were still a bit on the soft side when I finally took them out, but after resting on the cooling rack, they crisped right up.

Easy peasy!
Anyone could do it!

Are there signs of spring in your neck of the woods yet?

In His grace,
Cindy

No robins here, yet. I am hoping to hang clothes this weekend! It should be up to 60 degrees! My parsley did the same thing this year, even with all the snow!

Good morning Cyn,
It's raining instead of snowing, the animals are all in full shedding mode, tree buds ae swelling, first blades of green grass and weeds*sigh* are peeking through the soil and the best part we wake to all the birds singing their, "Happy it's Spring" songs

We also hung laundry out yesterday for the first time in a long spell.

Blessings for your day,
Kelle

YAY!!! There is hope for spring after-all! :) We've had little chance to hang laundry on the line here, but my lilacs are budding, raspberries are getting leaves and the robins are back. :) Once the rains are past, we'll use our clothesline too! Thanks for posting the graham cracker recipe, I've made gluten-free ones, but would like to make some whole wheat too. We LOVE graham crackers here.

Enjoy your line dried laundry! Can't wait to use my clothes line again. :)

Laundry is out today also, one of many I've been doing the last month in between the weather craziness. Nice wind today to blow the towels. Hit 67 degrees. Tomorrow we should see low 70's. Greening up, nice to see. Watched the twin doe baby goats spring all over and play Queen of the Mountain this afternoon.

Spring is sprung here in FL and I use my clothesline almost daily. I love my clothesline! I've got to get out there and plant a few things but am waiting for that last and final chilly spell that usua;;y hits around Easter. Have a wonderful day.

Makes me want to put my clothesline back up this weekend. All my throw rugs need washed and the bedding too.

I discovered that my chives from last summer reseeded in the pot I planted them in. Such a happy sight to see those bits of green popping through.

I don't miss not having snow in winter... But I do remember that irresistable urge to get out and rake as soon possible - anything to get out and find the green.
Here - I've already mowed once!
And fresh, air-dried spring laundry....

Umm, will you hate me if I tell you that our temps are predicted to be in the 80's this week? Spring will be over soon but in the meantime I have a garden this year! Lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, strawberries, spinach, mint and potatoes are all doing well! Fingers crossed!
