This week's menu... and job update!

 Sourdough sandwich bread

First off, let me say I just finished my first full week on the job as hostess for the new Trillium Haven restaurant...and I am plum tuckered out.
I love, love, love getting out and meeting new folks, so that is really the best part of the job.
The not so good part is that right now the pay is so low that it is not yet covering the gas money to get there and back.
If it does not pick up in the next week or so, I will be back to being a homebody.

Meanwhile, since I am gone from home from early Tuesday morning till later Saturday afternoon, there has to be a lot of cooking and cleaning on the two days I have off.

Yesterday I baked 2 loaves of sourdough bread...one for the freezer, and one for Pete to use during the week.

 Potato leek soup

A batch of soup was also on the agenda...both for Pete and for me to take with me.
It is most definitely soup weather!
I also made a pot of chili that we ate off on Saturday, with plenty left over for, well, leftovers!

 Meatloaf for supper tonight

I will throw a couple of potatoes in the toaster oven, plus make a nice big salad with enough left over for sandwiches or just re-heating for supper this week.

 Sourdough pizza!

I am making the dough for pizza today and it will set in the fridge all week, getting all sourdoughy in flavor the longer it sits.
We will have pizza likely on Saturday evening.

Salads...made fresh on an almost daily basis.

I always, always make my own dressings, usually just a simple vinaigrette that will keep for a couple of weeks in the fridge.

Also on the menu for the week, but not pictured, are portabella mushroom/swiss cheese sandwiches on ciabatta rolls.

Whew!
It has been a very busy 2 days home, and an even busier week coming up.
Prayers, as always, are much appreciated.

In Christ alone,
Cindy

That food looks great! I've never made a sourdough pizza dough. I've made sourdough English muffins but never bread.

The cost of living is thru the roof, the price of gas is over four dollars a gallon here in Maine. We here at Dog Trot Farm, give it our best at being frugal. All your meals look delicious, bread, soup, meatloaf, my kind of meals. I hope the job works out for you. Blessings, Julie.

I hope the job works out, too. The price of gas is ridiculous.

But, oh, the food looks good!
