Beau: December 22, 2002-January 7, 2013

 Beau

We could tell he was not his old self of late.
Not eating much.
Lack of energy.
Then trouble swallowing and diarrhea.

Beau and his monkey

Yesterday Google was not my friend, as I researched Beau's symptoms.
A visit to the vet this morning confirmed what we already knew in our hearts.
Cancer thru his body. Dramatic loss of weight this year.
 Very weak.
And in some pain.

We made the decision to put him down right there.
I sat by him and talked to him the entire time, telling him what a good puppy he has been and how much we loved him.
A faithful friend, he was.

We are broken hearted here....

In Christ alone,
Cindy

just found your blog and what drew me in was the picture of your beautiful dog, Beau....I am so sorry...retrievers are a special breed.....we had one, Digger, for our girls when they were growing up. I would trust laying a baby next to him.....loved him, he was the best, and someone shot him.....I have never been able to get another dog after that....they are family and loved....think of the joy of having him and giving him a good home....hugs, Linda

Oh my, Cindy! Heart broken for you! Our own Belle (also a Golden) is now 12 and shares nearly the same birthday as your Beau - Dec. 18, just a few days off. She has arthritis so bad she can hardly get up, but she does. She just keeps going. Not sure how long this can last. It's just so hard to part with such loyal, loving friends as our four legged companions. Praying for you tonight!

So sorry for your loss. Our pets seem to fill a space in our lives that nothing else can and it's so very hard to let them go. Knowing he is not in pain any longer hopefully will give you some peace. You did the right thing. He was a beautiful dog and I know you will miss him. Prayers for you all.

So sorry my sweet friend! So thankful that he was such a good dog and faithful companion. My Dad always says that what you have done for your Beau is the last kind thing a person can do for their dog. May the LORD comfort your hearts as only HE can.

Much Love,
Camille

So terribly sorry for your loss. Pets are such important parts of our lives...and it hurts so badly when one crosses that Rainbow Bridge.

So sorry for your loss. I only met him the one time, but knew he was a sweet boy. Your decision wasn't easy, but for the best. We had to put down our lab a few years back. It was one of the hardest things we did.

Understand your grieving. What faithful friends our pets become. Have you read Heaven by Randy Alcorn? He answers many questions, including animals joining us in Heaven. Highly recommend it for comfort and hope for the future.

I know you're heart is hurting and you're prob saying you'll never ever have another puppy. I don't know if you've been thru this before. Unfortunately I have several times. You did the right thing and I'm praying for you and hubby to be able to heal and smile. Have a blessed day.

Our red Lab Sienna died a few days after Christmas, and the loss of a good friend, especially a beloved dog is so sad.I am sorry to read of your loss.

I'm right there with you. We lost a goat in December to cancer, a yak in September to EHD (disease spread by a fly bite), and my mare to unknown causes on New Year's Eve. It is so... hard to say goodbye to such cherished companions. My heart goes out to you in your pain. May time soften the blow and sweet memories fill the hole left with his passing.

I have two pieces of advice. As a vet. tech I always told my clients "it will never get better, but it will get easier". As a dog Mom I have
told myself that more times then I can remember. Safe journey to him.

Know that I am thinking of you. My Sammie is 11 years old and I fear I will be in your shoes much earlier than later. Oh, how we love our animals and how much they love us.

I have recently been through the same circumstances. My cat Chloe whom I loved beyond belief had to be put to sleep. It was nearly the hardest thing I have ever had to do.
My sincere sympathy to you.

I know I'm new and I'm coming late to this post, but having done that twice in the last two years, losing a mamma at 15 and then one of her pups two years later, heartbreaking... I'm so sorry for your pain and loss.

She was so proficient; I'd bet she could get him to recite the Gettysburg Address. Patience and practice are very important when training your puppy. Be fair and understanding when disciplining your pet. Puppies and dogs always have to find that perfect spot to go and this always takes time. Don't give the puppy attention for about
15 minutes after wards.

My coder is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP.
I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.
But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using Movable-type on various websites for about a year and am concerned
about switching to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net.
Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
