I call this one...
"Lake effect" in the City
It was "take your camera to work" day last Saturday when I was scheduled to clean at the private club where I work.
Well, it was not really "take your camera to work" day, but I made it so for me.
Generally I am up on the top floor of the Fifth Third bank building when I clean, and I knew it would be the perfect day for shooting a few photos.
We had just had about 6" of snow, and I wanted to do some black and white photography, without actually having to shoot in black and white.
"View From the Top"
This is a shot of one of our city landmarks, The Calder.
I love the pop of color from that, plus the flags on the right.
"Hustle"
Bitter cold temps kept folks indoors for the most part, but those who were out and about moved quickly to get to their destination before frostbite set in!
I actually posted the first two of these to our hyperlocal newsletter, The Rapidian.
They are doing a "Black and White' photo thingy.
I had no idea till just today that folks were supposed to vote for their favorites.
Sheesh.
You could vote for me if you are so inclined.
I think you vote by leaving a comment...if that's the case I was voting for all my competition!
My photos are # 22 and #23.
But feel free to vote for any you like better...
cause I don't want no pity vote.
Know what I mean???
There are several there that just amazed me...such talent here in the city.
In Christ alone,
Cindy

What a great vantage point! I especially love your first one.
Interesting shots from a vantage point most would not have... I drive for a living (40' school bus) so 'take your camera to work day,' would just never work for me!
Fabulous photos and will be happy to vote for you because those are fabulous photos...got it? -lol-
I love snow scenes showing the city blanketed in white, but still busy.
So, your "office job" comes with a view of the city !
Hi Cindy! I love your black and white photos ... I just stopped at the site and commented on your second photo... Love the flags against the white snow...
I also just pinned your marmalade recipe. I've been making homemade cranberry sauce for my toast and yogurt. The orange marmalade would be a nice switch.
I hope all is well with you... I read a few of your most recent posts. It was fun catching up!
Wishing you much joy...
God bless you always,
~ Maria
