Digging deep....and burying myself

Michigan in March...our backyard

Been digging deep into who I am.

Seein' some ugly in there,  for sure.

Crappity crap that comes to the surface when you least expect it.

Gah!

Where did "YOU" come from,  jealousy?

Anger, frustration, irritation...YOU still in there, too?

Bitterness....I thought YOU were long gone.....but no.

All buried deep, but coming up for air like a swimmer gone down too far.
Breaking thru...gulping and gasping.

For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.  But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.  O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Romans 7:22-25

Still coming to repentance....and it is good.
Sitting at His feet...

Loving Jesus,
Loving people,

Cindy

  1. It is comforting to know that he loves us. No matter our frailties and imperfections. No matter what.

  4. We are righteous because of HIM! How Precious HE is!! As Robert Murray McCheyne was known to say ~ "One look at self, ten looks at Christ!" May the LORD continually be our focus. Oh, how we need Him. And, yes...until we meet Him face to face, we will battle with our sin. How wonderful that He does not leave us to ourselves!

    With love,
    Camille

  5. Oh, friend, I hear ya. Been there, done that, still there, still doin it. ;-) He is our righteousness!! Yes, I am a mess, but He is my righteousness. I am chosen, holy and dearly loved. He made HIM who knew no sin to be made sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God. Love that! Yes, I recognize and repent, but I look to HIM and His righteousness, not mine. Phew, there, I feel better now. Love you to pieces!!!

  9. Oh Cindy, this is so appropriate for me right now. I think I have given problems , frustrations, etc., over to God and then find the scum of my heart surfacing. Praise God He loves & forgives me anyway...but oh do I need to seek His ways.

  11. The first step in getting it out is to realize that it's even there! Thank God for his faithfulness in helping us when we cry out to him and for his longsuffering towards us and for his forgiveness time and time again.

Lemons have a low, highly acidic pH, which is attributable to their citric acid content.
The acidity of a fresh lemon can vary between 2.2 and 2.4 within the pH scale,
depending about the fruit's state of ripeness.

I can't stand touching raw meat so I bought a box of sterile latex gloves and keep them in the kitchen area.
