Saw this idea in a magazine, so went to Hobby Lobby and bought the clipboard with the cool bookplate already in place at the bottom.
Took a page from an old nature book and stained it up a bit.
Laid Farmboy's photo over the top.
Glass over the top of the photo.
Slip the glass under the clip.
Use alphabet stamps to write his name.
Heard some song on the radio talkin' about a guy who can take his girl anywhere: the ghetto, the slums, the trops, paradise, etc.
Reminded me of where Farmboy and I both came from:
THE WESTSIDE GHETTO!
An older neighborhood, with lots of the old Polish Catholics still taking real good care of their yards, their parents, their church.
Kinda miss it.
I think I'm gonna go back and take some photos of the house I grew up in.
Farmboy's was just down the street and around the corner.
Our own little corner of the ghetto.

How wonderful! I love what you did with that. I'm from the "hood" myself. And darn proud of it! My brother used to be ashamed to bring a girl over and I would be just as proud as punch! It is who we is, 'aight? lol

Oh what a cutie pie that Polish farmboy from the hood is! This is a great idea. I grew up in a typical midwestern trash neighborhood. They were good years too! Good people! Made me one tough, strong broad today!

You know, Joe is Polish and his parents' neigborhood outside of Baltimore is mostly Polish-Catholic. I've always felt that our children have missed a lot of their heritage because we're so far away. Now we live outside of Buffalo and low and behold! It's just busting at the seams with Poles! I am looking forward to finding some heritage celebrations around here for the kids to enjoy!
I mean...they GOTTA learn to Polka, don't they?

Cyn, this strikes a chord with me. When I was a child, we moved across town to an area near a Polish Catholic church and school and that's where I went to grade school. As a result, I have a soft spot in my heart for such areas, and many Polish friends. When you were working on this project, I was mourning the loss of a classmate from those days. It's been a long winter.
