THESE....ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES

As sands through the hourglass.....so are the days of our lives.

Have you ever felt like your life is one ginormous soap opera?
Like you could write a book about the stuff that has gone on in your life?

That would be me.

And another chapter has come to a close here at the farmette.

Our grandson, who has been living with us for the past 20 months, has gone back to live with his mom.

It has been a difficult transition for me.

Lots and lots of tears.

I've been told by our daughter that I will never see him again.
Perhaps that will change.
No matter.
We did what was right, regardless of whether or not she sees it that way.

"He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you,
But to do justly,
to love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8

Now, the nice thing about the end of one chapter, is that it means the beginning of another!

What is next for the Farmgirl?

Lots of gardening.
Plenty of reading.
Some sewing.
Sitting' by the pool.
And lots and lots of praying.

For what does it profit a mom if she gains the whole world, but her children are lost?

I'll be praying, Cyn...I have a friend who went through something similar with her grandchild and she had a period of actual grief..a mourning. I will also mention your daughter in my prayers and you KNOW God will honor what you did for your grandson and your grandma's prayers will follow that child throughout his whole life, I believe that God honors your prayers long after you're gone from this earth. So any time spend in prayer for this little guy will have eternal rewards.
GOD BLESS MY FRIEND, CYN.

Cyn,
I have been reading your blog for the past few days (I found it through down-to-earth) and am really enjoying it.
I am soooo very sorry for what happened.
This happened to me about 8 years ago and it lasted for about 14 months.
Have strength and know you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
God bless,

Cyn, My Mom used to having a saying that has stuck with me throughout my life...."You don't have to FIX them, you just have to love them." You have shown love to both your Daughter and your Grandson...Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant! Well Done! God will stand by the sides of those you love when you are apart...His love is what will eternally bind your hearts one to the other! I will be praying for you, for your Daughter and Grandson...May you all feel the touch of the Father's hand upon your shoulder and in your life!

Hello, my friend, This request goes in my prayer journal tonight. I am so inspired by your thoughts on the matter, it seems to me that you know WHO has the answer and you are planning to rest in that , I find that very inspiring.
I think most of us have felt like writing that book at one time or another.
Blessings,
Sue

OH My Cyn!!!

I am sure the pain you are feeling is so heavy! Not only about your grandson leaving, but your daughter attitude toward this situation...

I agree with you that this will past... that even though the attitude is screaming one thing, the heart still feels love... she will be ok, I just know it...

I will be praying... and I pray that although your daughter may not be hearing you, that God will send someone into her life that will guide her... I know as a mother you worry for both of them so much... It's what we do... but leave it to God... we will meet the needs of a wounded heart... I know... He is working on my pain... all the time!

Hug and Love!!!

Been there. My heart goes out to you. Grandma prayers are special. They are listened to by God. With 2Grandma's praying on my behalf, I know. You have formed a bond with your grandson that will not be forgotten. What a precious gift for him to recieve and for you to give. Take heart, dear soul. You did a good job and God is faithful.
May he shed is comfort and grace on you as you adjust to the loss of the little one's presence.

...A little note to let you know that I've been thinking about you and sending up prayers for you this week...
How can anyone be prepared for the job of a parent!? It's by the grace of God we proceed...
God gives us the grace we need at each moment. Showers of grace is what my prayer is for you.
God Bless you, Maria
