MY BIRTHDAY WISHES....

Today I turn 56.
My birthday wishes probably won't sound like your typical "close your eyes, make a wish, blow out the candles" kind of wishes.
Mine are more introspective perhaps?

I wish I were kinder.
Gentler.
More soft spoken.
I wish I were more giving.
Less critical.
More hospitable.
More mercy oriented.
More patient.
More vocal concerning my faith.
Less afraid of what others will think of me.

I wish I had come to the saving knowledge of my Lord, Jesus Christ when I was a child, instead of at the age of 25.
So many wasted years.
So little time left.

Most of all, I wish above all things, that all of you who read this silly little blog of mine,
would find true repentance and salvation in Jesus Christ, and that we would truly become brothers and sisters in His name.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
(And may all my birthday wishes come true!)

Love,
Cindy

Happy Birthday, Cyn!

I too am working on allowing the Lord to change me. Some days I allow Him a lot, others... not so much.

It's a journey, isn't it. I wasted a lot of time too, and I accepted Christ when I was a child. Just didn't really know what that meant until I was 30. (((Hugs)))

Have a beautiful day, Beautiful Sis. :)

It seems to me you are a wonderful person...just keep on being that person and try to fulfill your wishes....and don't look back! Happy Birthday!

I excepted Jesus into my life at the age of 8 and I still need a lot of work! :)

I think being teachable and wiiling to want to grow makes you the glowing woman of God that you are.

No this is not your typical birthday ...'cause we're USUALLY TOGETHER FOR THIS CELEBRATION!!!!

That's the part I don't like ...but the countdown is on for September, when I'll have to stoop to your old age of 56.

hugs and love being sent your way.

Happy Birthday Cyn!
What a tender and sincere post...
As Jesus taught his mother at the wedding feast... Any time is a good time to bring out the best wine. Let us all rejoice in the gift of you!

Here's message from a card I just saw today:
"Once upon a birthday,
a very special friend
came into this world
and made it
more beautiful
with her smile,
warmed it
with her thoughtfulness,
and grace it
with her goodness...

Once upon a birthday
the world was given
the wonderful gift of you.

Happy Birthday ~

Cyn, you are one of the first people I 'met' here in blogland...
You make it a wonderfully inviting place ~
All the best as you seek The Best

Happy Birthday to YOU!
56 isn't so bad....I have enjoyed it for 9 months now...
:)
I think that these milestones cause us 50-somethings to think/ponder/consider the time more...because we realize how quickly it flies by.
Yes, I agree with your list.
Make every moment count!
Soli Deo Gloria!

Wonderful post, Cyn - happy birthday! and wonderful birthday wishes that you have. It's good to look inward instead of outward. I know your wishes pleased the good Lord! Your "new birth" at 25 is your REAL birthday, girl! So celebrate that!

Belated Happy Birthday, Cyn.

It's not wasted time if you learned something from it. I think everyone has their own way and their own schedule for reaching the point when they begin to understand. For many people, that means finding faith, for others it may mean finding a point of view that allows them to live a good life.

As Fatih said, "It's a journey, isn't it?"

Happy birthday to you!

Heaven's sake, if you need to be gentler, kinder and such, there is simply no hope for me whatsoever!

Just kidding... but I do admire your gentleness, and femininity. These are hard-learned (and earned) traits. I do hope your wishes come true. But remember, some aren't wishes at all, but the result of steady faith.

Keep on, sister. :) And... there is MUCH time left. There is always more time.

ps. I had the same change at 25 as you.

Oh, I just thought of something! IF you were reborn at 25, then you're only 31 now!

And I'm only... 3. Oops. Well, that explains a lot doesn't it? :)

What a precious thing to write for your birthday. It brought tears to my eyes.

I accepted the Lord when I was 8 but it took me until 35 to really figure it out. We're all a work in progress. You have a precious heart - that is evident by the list that you wrote.

Blessings,
Kay

Happy Birthday to you Cyn! Your post touched my heart. You know, we have been blogging together on and off for years and I feel like I know you enough to share my thoughts on a bit of your post:

I wish I were kinder. - You took in your grandson and have shown a great deal of kindness to those of us who struggle along the way. I know, I have received some of that.

Gentler. - Your posts on the time you spend with Farmboy, your time decorating, playing with your kitties. Those show me your gentleness. And the hugs you have bursting inside you that you are always giving to people!

I wish I were more giving.- You open up your home to friends visiting, and to long distance ones you barely know. Offering tips, inspirations, and encouragement.

More hospitable.-See above about giving, I find it fits both.

More mercy oriented. - Again, you took in your grandson, helped with your dad, all while remaining the faithful, Christ serving, wife. You have more mercy in you than most people I meet.

More patient.-(Careful on what you pray for, God has a funny way of giving us MANY instances to practice patience :-)

More vocal concerning my faith. - Our faith speaks volumes more to those who see how you live, see your footsteps. They will see Christ in you louder than words.

Less afraid of what others will think of me. -I'm with you on this one! It's a daily battle to remember: it's only what God thinks of me at this moment that is the most important.

I wish I had come to the saving knowledge of my Lord, Jesus Christ when I was a child, instead of at the age of 25. -Praise God for the time you didn't and the time you have now. He has had you in His hands even when you didn't know Him, and He loved you so much that He called you close. Now you have the chance to live in Him and give Him the glory for it.

Cyn you are a beautiful woman who shares her heart with those of us out here who join you on this journey with the Lord. I am thankful you answered His call, and I celebrate with you the day of your birth. Hugs to you Cyn!!

Peace,
Dee
