Can I walk the talk?

 Quiche

In my defense, I have been busy.
On the other hand, it is easier NOT to post when one is feeling down and depressed.
I hate those "D" words.

 Ciabatta

 Oh, I keep myself busy.
Perfecting some sourdough recipes...
Teaching classes at Maple Valley Farms...
Getting a small garden established...

 Venison Bulgogi

But mostly I find myself NOT walkin' the talk.
Letting my feelings dictate how I act.
Spewing bitterness...
Spewing is an ugly word, isn't it?
Fitting.

 Buns!

Letting my emotions tell my mouth what to speak.
Now that can be ugly.

Dandelion oil
Liquid sunshine!

Don't get me wrong.
It's not all bad!
I have some really good days.
Days where I laugh more than cry.
And I know it will get better.
Time heals, right?

Meanwhile, I put one foot in front of the other.
And find myself repenting on a daily, nay, sometimes hourly basis.

Hey!
I have an idea!

Tell you what...
You pray for me...
And I'll pray for you!
Cause taking your mind off your own silly problems
(and mine are so small compared to what others are going through)
and lifting up someone else before the throne of God is good for the soul.

Leave a comment and I will pray for you...
You don't need to make it too personal, cause HE knows what you have need of.

I feel better already!

In Christ alone,
Cindy

I've had those two "D" words. It does get better! I'm praying for you! And if you can pray for my brother and his family, I would appreciate it!

Your food looks awesome!!! What is Venison Bulgogi?

I am having those "D" words at the moment. Prayers going up for you. What a blessed way to take our problems to the Lord. Thank you!

Prayers going up for you and I can always use extra prayers!

Could you share the venison recipe please?

May your day be blessed and filled with hope and a spirit of renewal. May Gods' peace rest not only upon you but saturate your whole household. May His presence fill your home and give you comfort throughout the day.

Here is the link to the bulgogi recipe...I found it on Pinterest! I just swapped out the beef for the venison, and let me tell you...it was so good! I cut way back on the meat as it is just the two of us, but I think I kept the same amt of veggies. I made a bit of rice to go with it also. Enjoy!

Hang in there! I parley comment because I type one handed with babe nursing or in the other...but always read and am planning an order. I'll take your prayers, but would appreciate you lifting up a friend's sister who needs a miracle to keep her here with her kids and not in her heavenly home quite yet.

Take care of yourself!

Dear Cindy ~ You have been in my thoughts and prayers for quite some time.

I do believe those two "D's" attack so many of us. They do me.

Your breads and that dandelion oil look wonderful.

We do not know what a day may bring, but we do know that He is with us every step of the way. He loves us deeply, more than we realize.

May we all feel His loving strength and peace flowing through and surrounding us as we walk this road in our early journey.

Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady

Each day I ask the Lord for someone I could pray for. So today I am lifting you up. I have so admired your resolve and all the efforts you have put in to your new ventures. You have inspired me to stop procrastinating and just do it - that is begin my own little business that will bring in a little extra income for our family which is really needed now as the cost of living here is just soaring with a carbon tax coming soon. I would appreciate your prayers for my new venture as I know you will understand how one feels when first starting out and the doubts that can fill one's mind!

Cindy, bless you! How did you know that I needed a good quiche recipe? Please post. :-) I finally bought all the needed ingredients, I think, today... Also, how do you make Dandelion Oil? You are so blessed, and talented; and you have so much to share! I lift you up and hope that our Heavenly Father lets you know sweet, and valuable you are. xoxoxoxo Sue

Precious friend. I continue to pray for you as the LORD brings you to mind (which HE is faithful to do...wonderful, isn't it?). Sending you love and a BIG (((Hug))) across the miles. And yes, walking the talk is sometimes a challenge, but the LORD is on this path with you...the thought of that is SO sweet, don't you think?

Much Love,
Camille

The basic recipe for the quiche was found at:
http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/04/quiche/

But I only used a box of frozen spinach, defrosted and pressed dry, 4 oz chopped, cooked bacon, onion, and swiss gruyere for the cheese.
For the crust I used this tart recipe and left out the sugar...

http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2009/05/french-tart-dough-a-la-francaise/

I don't have a pie pan or tart pan, but I have a corning thingy I used instead.

We LOVED this! With a huge green salad it was a perfect supper. SO rich, you really can only eat one piece. Leftovers!!!

Praying for others really does help, doesn't it? We are in limbo as to what town we should live it if our house sells. My husband's job was supposed to transfer locations (we even have moving orders from the military), but the day he was supposed to start working at the new location is the day they said "oh sorry, we don't have a shop even built, so you will have to stay at your current location." In the meantime, we have our house on the market. Please pray for wisdom for us to wait for God's perfect timing for this house to sell and for us to move. We aren't sure which town we should be in, because they aren't giving us any information. It is frustrating, but I'm trying really hard to give it to God every time I start to panic. Thank you! I continue to pray for your financial situation, too. Blessings, Jackie

Kay Arthur had a really great teaching some years ago. I remember her alliteration of 'd' words that were so fitting. I just tried to find it online, but couldn't.

Remember. We could be very close. Those who persevere to the end, those who don't grow weary of doing good, it is those who will finish the race well. I'm getting tired too. I understand more than you know. Girl - we are not perfect, we are just a couple of God's children who are learning lessons from our challenges and will see the rewards in due time.

Thank you Cindy for the quiche recipe. I'm going to make it, with my own variations for fillers, of course within the next few days. :-) You are such an inspiration! Bless you. Sue

On my knees as we speak. Know what the dreaded D-word feels like. Hang in there!

I'm in the middle of some very depressing times myself. I have to remind myself to get focused. It's easy to look at the things that are wrong, instead of the things that are right. I read that we spend 80% of our time looking at the problem and only 20% of the time at a solution. It should be the opposite. It's also hard to accept the Lord's hand that he's dealt us, but he has a reason for it. He's molding us into a useful vessel and some times he has to cut things out of the clay to make that beautiful design. It hurts though. I have a list in my bible that I look at each day when I read it, and it has names on it for others who are going through a very hard time. It seems to help me to pray for others instead of telling God about my problems, which he already knows about! I don't need to remind him of them every day and I would fall into that too often.
I hope things get better soon for you! If not, God has a plan. Look for the lesson and thank him every day for the good things that you DO have.

I am sorry to hear things are tough for you right now. I have been there most of my life, but really work on it now so that I don't get drug down into depression.

Certainly prayer is a part what helps me. There is no stronger support than God.

I also use brain wave entrainment, a scientific thing you can look up on the internet.

And Emotional Freedom Techniques, which is tapping on some acupuncture points while thinking about what the issue is or what is bothering you. It takes the charge out of the issue, so that you can just be neutral about it.

Please look these up on the internet as it has helped thousands of people, not just myself.
