Farm Fresh dill sauce

Cast of characters

I have been thinkin' about creating a fresh dill sauce for some wild salmon that has been waiting for me in the deep freeze.
Googling brought me a basic list of ingredients, and all I had to do was play around with it.
Homemade mayo...cause I don't buy anything off the grocers shelves anymore.
Creme fraiche instead of sour cream, cause that's what I had in the fridge.
Lemon juice, fresh squeezed...I always have lemons and limes in the fridge.
Dijon mustard...another staple here.
And the fresh dill....unfortunately store bought as mine is nowhere near ready to harvest.

Pretty much equal parts creme fraiche and mayo, with about 2 teaspoons dijon, a goodly squeeze of fresh lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste, and the star of the sauce...fresh, chopped dill....
to taste.

Ta-da!

I would have added far more fresh dill, but Pete really isn't crazy about it so I used a light hand.
Probably a good 2 tablespoons to this smallish bowl.
Maybe I will chop some extra just for moi....

Enjoying a bit of a cool down here in West Michigan till later in the week when temps are supposed to be in the upper 90's...

How are you holdin' out with summer just hittin' her stride?

YUM! Looks tasty! We've been harvesting our dill for the past month or so. It's good tucked in with tuna fish salad too!

It's been too hot here lately. In the 90s for the past couple of weeks. Hardly any rain either. I'm to looking forward to July and August!

I have some Alaska Salmon in my freezer (lucky me ~ my brother in law has a charter out of Alaska!) This will be wonderful! I just wish I had made my own mayo! Never tried before. I'm sure it is easy. As soon as we use up the jar in the fridge, I must try!
We have had more than our share of rain, rain, rain! One or two nice days and then back to cool temps and rain. Now, how's my garden supposed to grow? The weeds are doing fabulously, the veggies ~ not so much! Too bad we can't trade a few days a week, huh? :~D

Yum! I like a dill sauce that is "light on the dill" and this seems perfect. Beautiful sauce too.

I read your post yesterday, about two hours before I planned to cook some fish for dinner. I've just been serving fish with butter and lemon, but this was the perfect idea! I have two thriving dill plants in the garden, so that part was easy. I had to use plain yogurt instead of sour cream/creme fraiche, but hubby liked it anyway!

We're in for another round of high temperatures starting tomorrow, but so far I haven't found it too unbearable. Maybe I'm not working hard enough!

Looks and sounds wonderful! My dill is not ready yet either. In a month, maybe.

This sounds yummy as well! We make a sour cream/ lemon juice / dill sauce which we love with our fish. I have tonnes of dill growing at the moment, so I should put fish on the menu for next week.
